Repairing A Dripping Tap

Is your bathroom tap dripping? Don’t just ignore the problem, find a solution and get it fixed! A dripping tap usually happens due to a damaged washer, which is very easy to replace if you follow our steps below.

Before you do anything, turn off the main water supple. Then open the tap fully so the water is drained from the system. Make sure the plug hole is closed, this is to save any important parts dropping whilst you dismantle the tap!

Unscrew the top plate, usually possible with your hands but if not use pliers. Workout how to best take off the handle and then unscrew the tap body cover, avoid damaging the exterior. Then undo the headgear nut using a spanner. Remove the headgear and you will see the washer which sits in the jumper. If a nut is in place, then unscrew it to remove the washer and then insert a new washer. Now all you have to do is reassemble your tap, and turn on the water supply. Your dripping tap should have now stopped.
