Before you start on anything else, make sure to turn off the water supply and drain the water supply lines by opening a faucet below the level of the bath.

Then you need to expose the piping and remove the hot and cold water faucets. Use a wrench (preferably adjustable) to disconnect the bathtub drain. After this is done, you can loosen the slip nut which connects the overflow pipe.

To remove the spout, drain and faucet, you may have to remove some tiling around the bathtub. If you’re chipping off the tile, make sure to wear protective goggles and gloves. After this is done, you can now disconnect the piping and then pry out the old bathtub.
