Sun tubes are a type of skylight. They basically tunnel the light into a dim lit room or area, and they’re perfect in en-suite bathrooms. En-suites do not often have their own window, and this is one of the only ways to get natural daylight into the room.

It’s quite amazing how much difference sun tubes make, and they can completely transform the look and feel or a room. You’ll often see these fitted at the top of a dark landing, and it’s mainly used for those small awkward spaces where there’s very little light at all.

Rather than having to open your en-site door to get light, or turning the lights on and wasting electricity, consider a sun tube. They’re regularly being added to new builds but they can work on old properties to, but you may need planning permission first.
