The first thing many plumbers do is pour hot water down the drain. Make sure not to use boiling water as this can melt the sealants and rubber gaskets which seal the drain together. After you’ve poured the water in, let it settle for 10 minutes and then start to use a plunger. Another popular method is pouring a mixture of vinegar and baking soda down the drain. Mix a 1/3 baking soda and 1/3 vinegar and then pour it in. After this you have to pour hot water also which will combine with the fizz of the previous mixture.
